Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Vice-President to join our team at Simcoe Geoscience Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our engineering department and overseeing the implementation of organizational policies and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Allocate material, human, and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs
  • Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions
  • Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions, or departments
  • Establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs
  • Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions
  • Select middle managers, directors, or other executive staff; delegate the necessary authority to them and create optimum working conditions
Supervision and Team Management

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of 16-20 people in various areas of responsibility. They will also be responsible for ensuring that the team is working efficiently and effectively to achieve the organization's objectives.

Security and Safety

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal record check and ensure that all team members are aware of and comply with the organization's security and safety policies.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a large workload. They will also be required to work under pressure and have excellent attention to detail.

Personal Suitability

The successful candidate will be required to have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal awareness and the ability to work as part of a team. They will also be required to have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
