Health Data Analyst for Northwest Territories

We are seeking a highly skilled Epidemiologist, Surveillance to join our team in the Government of Northwest Territories. As a key member of our department, you will play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting health data to inform evidence-based programs and services for the benefit of NWT residents.
About the RoleThis position is responsible for providing timely surveillance of population health indicators, identifying trends and patterns, and developing actionable insights to improve the health and wellness of the population. You will work closely with stakeholders to design and implement research protocols, analyze data, and present findings to support informed decision-making.

Responsibilities- Analyze and interpret large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations related to population health indicators.
- Design and implement research protocols to collect and analyze data from various sources, including surveys, administrative records, and other health-related databases.
- Develop and maintain databases, statistical models, and data visualizations to support analysis and presentation of findings.
- Present research findings to stakeholders, including policymakers, program managers, and community leaders, to inform decision-making and program development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement policies, programs, and services that address priority health issues and promote health equity.
- Masters-level degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, or a related field.
- Two years of experience in epidemiological and statistical analysis, including training or experience in the analysis and interpretation of population health surveys, development of research protocols, and interpretation of research.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
We offer a competitive salary range of $95,000 - $125,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
