Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in providing expert technical accounting services and financial management support to the Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) within the Government of the Northwest Territories.

This position is responsible for collaborating closely with senior management, the Office of the Comptroller General, and other finance staff at headquarters and regions to ensure effective financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide comprehensive financial management support, including financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting;
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange;
  3. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and relevant government regulations;
  4. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, analyzing data to inform business decisions;

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess a recognized Canadian professional accounting designation (CGA, CA, CMA, or CPA) and three years of directly related experience.

Compensation Package
