The Government of the Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Financial Analyst to join its team in Yellowknife.

Job Overview

The Corporate Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing expert technical accounting services and financial management support and analysis to the Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE).

The successful candidate will work closely with the Manager of Financial Operations, Director, Finance and Capital Planning, and Senior Management to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided to inform business decisions.

The Corporate Financial Analyst will also work regularly with the Office of the Comptroller General (Accounting Services) and other finance and program staff at headquarters and the regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical accounting services and financial management support to the ECE department;
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement;
  • Develop and deliver effective presentations and training to stakeholders;
  • Work with people in an effective, tactful manner to achieve shared goals;
  • Interpret and assess financial policy documents to ensure compliance.

To succeed in this role, candidates typically require a recognized Canadian professional accounting designation (CGA, CA, CMA, or CPA) and three years of directly related experience.

What We Offer

The Government of the Northwest Territories offers a competitive salary range from $103,818 to $124,020 per year, plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
