Job Description

Société Financière Manuvie is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its E-Communications and Market Abuse Compliance team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced compliance expert to spearhead the development and implementation of a robust E-Communications and Market Abuse program.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, with expertise in surveillance and market abuse. They will be responsible for building a high-performing team, designing and implementing key controls, and analyzing electronic communication-based alerts to detect and prevent misconduct.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Global E-Communications & Surveillance program, ensuring effective detection and prevention of market or firm damaging misconduct.
  • Develop and manage a high-performing global team, fostering collaboration and driving results-oriented culture.
  • Design, implement, and operate key controls relating to communications and surveillance, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze electronic communication-based alerts, identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions.
  • Detect violations of policy and regulatory requirements, documenting reviews, process changes, and outcomes.
  • Enhance, expand, and improve the E-Communication and Market Abuse Program from both effectiveness and efficiency standpoints.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and internal policy updates, incorporating current search techniques, rules, and criteria into surveillance systems.
  • Provide comprehensive E-Communications and Market Abuse training to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in legal/compliance or similar field, with a good understanding of financial markets, products, services, and processes.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, ability to influence across all lines of business and at all levels of the Company.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities, work well under pressure.
  • Leadership experience and experience working for a global financial institution.
  • Knowledge of the Financial Services Industry, with a specific focus on surveillance / Market Abuse, and demonstrable understanding of investment instruments and general knowledge of compliance concepts.
  • Program management experience in communication and Market Abuse surveillance in the financial services industry.
  • Previous experience with e-communications surveillance system implementation or system enhancement.
