Strategic Retail Sales Director

We are seeking a highly motivated Strategic Retail Sales Director to join our team at Canopy Growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional who is passionate about building strong relationships with retail key accounts in the Ontario market.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving sales quotas and in-store condition KPI's targets, as well as experience in managing complex sales relationships with chain accounts. A university degree is preferred, and a combination of sales acumen, marketing experience, senior customer management experience, polished presentation skills, and data analytics is essential for success in this role.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing sales and relationships with licensed retail key accounts in the Ontario market. This includes building new partnerships with emerging chains, securing business with those customers, and planning revenue through service, new distribution analysis, NPD execution, promo pricing, In-store visibility, and account management.
You will also be responsible for developing marketing initiatives with the customer marketing team based on your customers' needs and ability to execute at retail. Additionally, you will effectively manage a given key account list, ensuring all administration records and information is up-to-date.

Responsibilities:
- Manage key accounts as assigned by the Head of Key Accounts.
- Build new partnerships with emerging chains in the Ontario market, and secure business with those customers.
- Plan revenue through service, new distribution analysis, NPD execution, promo pricing, In-store visibility, and account management.
- Develop marketing initiatives with the customer marketing team based on your customers' needs and ability to execute at retail.
- Effectively manage a given key account list, ensuring all administration records and information is up-to-date.
- Work in conjunction with the Provincial Sales Managers, and Territory Managers to effectively lead industry and brand education sessions with key customers and their staff.
- Achieve KPI targets on: Margin, net revenue, distribution, penetration, and market share.
- Product placement.
- Price accuracy and communication.
- Product quality standards.
- Representing Canopy in line with brand and merchandising guidelines.
Requirements:
- University degree preferred.
- A combination of sales acumen, marketing experience, senior customer management experience, polished presentation skills, and data analytics.
- An insatiable curiosity of what makes customers tick and the ability to turn that curiosity into sales opportunities to drive Canopy Growth's and our customer's business.
- Proven track record in achieving sales quotas and in-store condition KPI's targets.
- Previous success in building and growing relationships with chain accounts.
- Clean drivers abstract.
- A technologically savvy individual who is comfortable working in a data-driven environment.
- Experience in Beverage Alcohol, FMCPG, or relatable industries an asset.
- 5+ years' experience in Sales, Account Management, Category Management or Trade Marketing in a related CPG Business.
- Proven track record of working remotely and independently.
Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
Bonus Potential: Up to 20% of annual salary.
