Housekeeping Department Manager

Great Canadian Entertainment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at the Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring that all areas of the facility are clean and maintained to the highest standards.
- Plan and coordinate the activities of the housekeeping team, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to minimize risk and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Manage departmental resources, including inventory, equipment maintenance, and procurement.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and training to housekeeping team members.
- Investigate and respond to guest complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to develop and manage budgets, ensuring that departmental expenses are within allocated limits.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Develop and maintain a cleaning schedule, ensuring that all areas of the facility are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
- Train and supervise housekeeping team members, ensuring that they are aware of job requirements and compliance regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that the department is well-stocked and equipped to meet operational needs.
- Experience in a management or supervisory role, preferably in a unionized resort, hotel, or casino environment.
- Formal education or training in environmental, facilities, or housekeeping management, preferably in a commercial or entertainment facility.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning practices, equipment, and procedures.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively develop and relay clear directives, goals, and expectations.
- Ability to work well under pressure, effectively mitigating challenging labor-related issues, particularly in a unionized environment.
- Good computer skills, with proficiency in MS-Word, MS-Outlook, and MS-Excel.
- Willingness to lead by example, setting the standard for code of conduct, deportment, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to train, mentor, and provide clear direction to team members, building core competencies and clear succession plans.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
