Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Office Services Specialist to provide program and office support to a work unit. This role involves general office and administrative support, including routine office responsibilities, scheduling meetings, data entry, and preparing correspondence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to a work unit, including routine office tasks and data entry
  • Schedule meetings and appointments, and prepare correspondence as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and files, and order supplies as required
  • Answer inquiries and direct them to the appropriate office or resource
  • May be responsible for maintaining timesheets and entering time/leave taken into the timekeeping/payroll system

Requirements

  • Knowledge of office principles and practices
  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software applications
  • Ability to interpret and follow established procedures and guidelines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, verbally and in writing
  • Considerable skill in the operation of standard office equipment
