Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Program Coordinator I to join our Recreation Therapy/Adult Day Services department. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing general recreational/leisure programs to support residents'/clients' health and well-being in residential, acute, and/or adult day program settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and implement recreational/leisure programs to meet the needs of residents/clients
  • Supervise up to four Activity Worker II positions and provide direction to designated volunteers
  • Carry out therapeutic components of a resident's care plan as assigned by a Recreation Therapist or other clinical staff
  • Assist with monitoring patients'/residents' progression and provide feedback to clinical staff
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services
Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized recreational program plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • An appropriate valid Class IV vehicle license as required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to supervise and lead a team
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to deal with others effectively and build strong relationships
