Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Account Executive to join our team in Nova Scotia on a permanent full-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for selling commercial insurance policies, developing and maintaining a prospect list, and building strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Sell commercial insurance policies to new and existing customers
- Develop and maintain a prospect list to identify new business opportunities
- Build and maintain excellent customer relationships through regular site visits and communication
- Stay up-to-date on market knowledge, products, and pricing issues to provide the best possible service to customers
- Prepare proposals and arrange for account placement with insurance carriers
- Gather and document relevant information to ensure customers receive the appropriate coverage and service
- Maintain a high-quality book of business by adhering to underwriting rules and good business practices
- Arrange payment terms for new business sales and collect payments in a timely manner
- Support customers with the claims process
- Travel in and out of town to meet with customers and attend industry events
- Post-secondary education or equivalent
- Excellent customer service and sales skills
- Strong communication and coaching skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with pressure and deadlines
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- 5-7+ years of industry experience in sales and customer service
- Commitment to continual learning, with a CIP or CAIB designation or working towards completion
