About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Consultant to join our team at Dyno Nobel. As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering on our solutions offerings, providing technical expertise and guidance to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of technical solutions.
  2. Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to customers, including project scoping, measurement of KPIs, and execution of recommendations.
  3. Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing subject matter expertise and recommendations for best practices and applications.
  4. Expense Management: Manage individual project-related expenses, including materials and travel.
  5. Business Performance: Contribute to achieving budgeted customer profitability, measured by EBIT.
  6. Asset Management: Manage all company assets to assist with achieving company goals.
  7. Pre-Blast Surveys: Conduct pre-blast surveys, including face profiles, borehole deviation measurements, blast geometry measurements, product sampling, and safety audits.
  8. Blast Performance Measurements: Conduct blast performance measurements, including digital high-speed video, vibration monitoring, velocity of detonation, dynamic pressure, and other relevant metrics.
  9. Time Studies: Conduct time studies on personnel and equipment throughout an operation, including drill and blast operations, truck-shovel loading, dragline, processing, and other relevant activities.
  10. Problem-Solving: Respond professionally and timely to address problems and business requests.
  11. Service Requirements: Understand and enhance service requirements to continually improve customer profitability.
  12. Communication: Communicate effectively with all DynoConsult engineers and personnel.
  13. Reporting: Write and document reports to assure that projects are properly documented and archived.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in geology, mining, civil engineering, or another related field.
  2. Experience: 5+ years of practical experience in construction, mining, and/or explosive industry in both surface and underground mining.
  3. Project Management: Project management experience preferred.
  4. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure customer environment.
  5. Permits and Certifications: Must hold an engineer's permit, be in good standing, and registered on the membership roll at any Canadian province. Must have an approval letter for access to a high-explosive (ON) or General explosives permit (QC). Environmental and Occupational health and safety certificate. Must have a Basic underground hard rock mine service type common core, modular training of a miner or related certification.
  6. Travel: Travel (60%) may vary depending on location and nature of work directed, vehicle provided.
  7. Language: Bilingual – English and French (asset).
  8. Attitude and Teamwork: Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.
