Key Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Solutions Consultant at Dyno Nobel, you will play a pivotal role in executing Dyno Nobel's solution offerings. Your technical expertise will encompass project scoping, KPI measurement, and the implementation of strategic recommendations. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing projects and documenting the success of design, application, and/or product modifications in the field.
  • Cultivating and sustaining customer relationships as a subject matter expert, providing insights for best practices and applications supported by key metrics.
  • Managing project-related expenses, including materials and travel.
  • Contributing to the achievement of budgeted customer profitability as measured by EBIT.
  • Overseeing all company assets to support the attainment of organizational goals.
  • Conducting pre-blast assessments, such as face profiles, borehole deviation measurements, blast geometry evaluations, product sampling, and safety audits.
  • Performing blast performance evaluations, including digital high-speed video, vibration monitoring, velocity of detonation, and dynamic pressure assessments.
  • Executing time studies on personnel and equipment throughout operations, including drill and blast activities, truck-shovel loading, dragline operations, and processing.
  • Responding professionally and promptly to address challenges and business inquiries.
  • Understanding and enhancing service requirements to continuously improve customer profitability.
  • Effectively communicating with all DynoConsult engineers and personnel.
  • Documenting projects thoroughly by preparing appropriate reports to ensure proper archiving.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, mining, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in construction, mining, and/or the explosives industry, encompassing both surface and underground mining.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure customer environment.
  • Must possess an engineer's permit, in good standing, and registered on the membership roll in any Canadian province.
  • Required to have an approval letter for access to high-explosives (ON) or a General explosives permit (QC).
  • Certification in Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Must have completed Basic underground hard rock mine service type common core, modular training of a miner, or related certification.
  • Willingness to travel (60%) as dictated by the location and nature of work, with a vehicle provided.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
