The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Explosives Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our explosives solutions team, you will be responsible for delivering technical expertise and project management skills to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from scoping to execution, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers as a subject matter expert, providing recommendations for best practices and applications.
  • Manage project-related expenses, including materials and travel.
  • Contribute to achieving budgeted customer profitability through effective project management and technical expertise.
  • Manage company assets to support business goals and objectives.
  • Conduct pre-blast surveys, blast performance measurements, and time studies to optimize operations.
  • Respond professionally and timely to address problems and business requests.
  • Enhance service requirements to continually improve customer profitability.
  • Communicate effectively with all Dyno Nobel engineers and personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, mining, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of practical experience in construction, mining, and/or explosive industry in both surface and underground mining.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure customer environment.
  • Must hold an engineer's permit, be in good standing, and registered on the membership roll at any Canadian province.
  • Must have an approval letter for access to a high-explosive (ON) or General explosives permit (QC).
  • Environmental and Occupational health and safety certificate.
  • Must have a Basic underground hard rock mine service type common core, modular training of a miner or related certification.
  • Travel (60%) may vary depending on location and nature of work directed, vehicle provided.
  • Bilingual – English and French (asset).
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.
