Job Description

As a Strategic Digital Product Director for Global Transaction Banking, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to maximize the effectiveness of digital channels used by clients to access Cash Management & Payment Service products.

This includes ScotiaConnect, Global mobile channels, and other emerging delivery channels. You will also lead market intelligence and trends, as well as execute the product management cycle for the digital channels.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop End-to-End Roadmap
  • Create a strategic roadmap for ScotiaConnect and the mobile banking channel based on competitive insights and customer expectations.
  • Work with Channel Design team to get voice of customer data to inform and improve user experience.
  • Collaborate with Agile product owners and technology leadership to ensure business KPIs are met to deliver on business case deliverables.
  • Influence GTB lab ecosystem to adhere to enterprise best practices and design standards to ensure design consistency and cohesive customer experience.
Lead Market Intelligence Program
  • Direct research and tracking of global trends, competitor products, and pricing as well as market requirements.
  • Maintain lines of communication with delivery network, alliance partners, and customers about product needs, competitive opportunities, and trends.
  • Evaluate cross-border channel services for regulatory/compliance requirements.
  • Ensure departmental management information systems satisfy Bank user needs and reports on key measures are meaningful, accurate, and timely.
  • Stay informed about competitors' channels, products, and services.
  • Analyze and provide guidance on pricing including past and future pricing trends.
Execute Full Cycle Product Management
  • Manage product portfolio with design thinking and agile methodologies.
  • Lead product development to ensure competitive and comprehensive products and services.
  • Ensure local and global focus is recognized in customer-centric products and services offered.
  • Analyze markets and develop new product planning.
  • Develop product and service business cases through value propositions, product positioning, and strategy formulation.
  • Evaluate all products and services for compliance with countries' regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the product development process.
  • Lobby internal and external stakeholders to obtain buy-in and resources for product and services projects.
Partner with Global Transaction Banking Product Owners
  • Ensure end-to-end operational processes for digital banking are defined for new and existing services.
  • Implement appropriate risk, AML, and regulatory obligations and protocols.
  • Collaborate with GTB Risk to ensure audit items are tracked and responded to within agreed timelines.
  • Use data and insights to identify opportunities to streamline processes and achieve operational excellence.
  • Establish revenue and sales forecasts for ScotiaConnect.
  • Support GTB and partner sales specialists by defining strategy for employee and customer education.
  • Support deployment of new digital capabilities with analytics and dashboard reporting.
  • Lead the design of financial analytical models incorporating risk, cost, budgets, and financial consequences.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in business.
  • 10+ years' experience in product development and management of banking products and portfolios.
  • Deep understanding of design thinking, user experience, and digital channels marketplace.
  • Strong business sense with knowledge of financial concepts.
  • Strong negotiating skills with experience in deal structuring.
  • Astute in identifying profitable opportunities.
  • Broad understanding of the range of products, policies, and delivery capabilities by Scotiabank.
  • Strong understanding of the effect that change or new products will have on existing operations.
  • Strong general and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
