Job Title: Wildfire Resiliency Planning Officer

About the Role:
The BC Public Service Agency is seeking a skilled and experienced Planning Officer, Wildfire Resiliency to join our team. This role will be responsible for providing senior-level expertise in wildfire resiliency to achieve a range of objectives, including wildfire risk reduction, ecosystem restoration, and community resiliency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic planning and coordination to support government priorities related to wildfire resiliency.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including organizations, government agencies, First Nations, and Indigenous peoples, to develop and implement planning guidelines and strategies for wildfire risk reduction projects.
- Lead efforts in wildfire education, mitigation, and response, while contributing to policy development and forest health initiatives.

Requirements:
- A Technical Diploma in a natural resource management-related field (e.g., Forestry, Geography, or Natural Resource Management); OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Two (2) or more years' experience working in a natural resource discipline; AND experience managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project.
- Experience managing relationships with stakeholders and partners and leading consultation sessions; AND experience implementing provincial land management planning processes.

- Competitive salary: $76,071.18 - $86,658.48 annually.
