Data Governance Specialist

The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to join its team. This role is responsible for deploying and promoting the data governance program at the OSC, ensuring consistent access and use of data, and enhancing the visibility of enterprise data assets.

The Data Governance Specialist will work closely with technology teams to create and implement technology solutions, ensuring the production of highly managed, governed, and trustworthy data assets that support regulatory functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Assign and manage roles and responsibilities for data stewardship and ownership within the organization.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of data from creation and storage to archiving and deletion.
  • Ensure data quality management, including maintaining data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability.
  • Establish robust data security and privacy policies to protect against unauthorized access, breaches, and misuse.
