Program Leader Job Description

Job Summary:

The City of Medicine Hat is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Leader to join our team at the Big Marble Go Centre. As a Program Leader, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality child-minding program for infants and children aged 3 months to 7 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Planning and Delivery: Develop and implement engaging and interactive play experiences that promote learning and development in children.
  • Child Safety and Wellbeing: Ensure the safety, security, and wellbeing of all children in your care, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and team members to ensure the needs of the children are met.
  • Environment and Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, and ensure the smooth operation of the program.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to families, responding to their needs and concerns.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Successful completion of Grade 12 or high school equivalency diploma, and six (6) months of general experience in Parks and Recreation programming or a related field.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's License, with an acceptable driving record, and preference will be given to candidates with current CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate C.
