Job Title: Benefits Program Manager

This role will serve as the key expert for the administration of benefits programs for NielsenIQ's Canadian operations, supporting approximately 500 employees. The Benefits Program Manager is responsible for the successful day-to-day management of Canadian retirement plans and benefit plans, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Retirement Plans: Support the management of DC pension/RRSP/TFSA plans, including reconciliations and submissions to service providers. Coordinate DB pension activities with service providers, including preparation of terminated member settlement option packages and annual pensioner indexing adjustments.
  2. Benefits Plans: Support annual benefit plan renewals, biennial healthcare/dental plan re-enrolments, new member enrolments, member terminations, and member coverage changes.
  3. Leave of Absences: Communicate leave of absence processes with employees and their managers, track leave start and end dates, and update leave status in Workday.
  4. Communications: Prepare communication materials, including periodic newsletters, and post Canada benefits information on the company intranet site.
  5. Other: Support other benefit initiatives and programs as needed.
Requirements:
  1. Post-secondary degree
  2. 4+ years of experience in benefit plan administration, including retirement plan administration, annual audits, and leave of absence processes
  3. Strong Excel and analytical skills, with a proven track record of using Excel to analyze datasets and identify discrepancies
  4. Understanding of Employment Standards Administration, pension legislation, and other related regulations
  5. Superior attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  6. Proven ability to take initiative, resolve problems, and drive execution of deliverables
  7. Ability to prioritize work and adjust priorities as needed, with strong organizational and follow-up skills
  8. Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
  9. Ability to research independently and present findings to resolve questions and issues
  10. Exhibits a service-mindset in all interactions with internal and external contacts
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Proficient in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel
  2. Experience with Workday, SAP, or other HRIS systems
  3. Collaborative team player with the ability to pivot and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
  4. Skilled at MS Excel, including pivot tables and logic formulas
