Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Executive Venue Coordinator to join our team at Downtown Plaza. This is a permanent full-time opportunity with a competitive salary range of $78,690 – $93,671.

Key Responsibilities

As an Executive Venue Coordinator, you will be responsible for supervising daily operations, including facility maintenance, customer service, site services, and personnel requirements. You will also assist community members and groups in planning and providing activities, programs, and services.

You will coordinate and direct the provision of recreational and cultural programs, festivals, and special events. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with all relevant municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.

Your duties will include:

  • Supervising employees in accordance with City policy and applicable collective agreement;
  • Maintaining accurate records and fee schedules;
  • Developing and directing the marketing strategy for designated facilities;
  • Researching/developing partnerships and grant applications;
  • Maintaining an in-depth understanding of City Policy, applicable legislation, and current knowledge of services for venues.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Community College diploma in a related field; Recreation and Leisure, Event Management Planning, etc.
  • Three years work experience in a supervisory position, in a related field, or five years with progressive accountabilities.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft, including experience in Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • An understanding of Occupational Health & Safety Act (OSHA) and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • A valid Ontario 'G' Driver's License, with an excellent driving record.
