Crisis Intervention Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Crisis Intervenor to join our established interdisciplinary mobile crisis team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering crisis support services to individuals experiencing mental health crises, as well as community organizations and families/friends who are supporting them.
As a Crisis Intervenor, you will provide culturally sensitive and non-judgmental support, education, and problem-solving facilitation to individuals in crisis. You will also be responsible for triage, clinical assessment, and referral or disposition to appropriate services and resources. Your interventions will take place on the phone and in the community, and you will work collaboratively with other team members and community organizations to provide comprehensive support.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in mental health, crisis intervention, and community resources. You will have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Nursing, or a related field, and up-to-date licensure and registration in Nova Scotia. You will also have experience working with individuals experiencing mental health crises, as well as knowledge of crisis intervention issues and the ability to implement evidence-based interventions.
We offer a competitive salary range of $33.97 - $42.89 hourly, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan. About You- Strong background in mental health, crisis intervention, and community resources
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Nursing, or a related field, and up-to-date licensure and registration in Nova Scotia
- Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health crises
- Knowledge of crisis intervention issues and the ability to implement evidence-based interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and community organizations
