About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Safety Driver and Equipment Trainer to join our team at Green Infrastructure Partners. As a key member of our Fleet Safety Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of our vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Certification: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for drivers and operators on the safe operation of our vehicles and equipment, including light-duty vehicles, commercial vehicles, and heavy equipment.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards, and develop strategies to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Expertise: Stay up-to-date on all relevant regulations and laws related to transportation, including CVOR, NSC, HTA, TDG, and NSC Standards, and ensure that all drivers and operators are compliant.
  • Driver Development and Support: Provide coaching and guidance to drivers to improve their skills and performance, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Training Content Development: Create and maintain training content for both online and in-class delivery, including defensive driving, load securement, safe backing, pre-trip inspections, and electronic logs.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain detailed reports on training metrics, risk assessments, and compliance, and provide insights to inform business decisions.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2 years of experience as a Driver Trainer or Fleet Safety Professional, with a proven track record of success in developing and delivering training programs.
  • Qualifications: Valid Ontario unrestricted AZ or DZ class driver's license (or provincial equivalent) with no demerit points accumulated, and MTO Fleet Signing Authority Certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment).
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
