Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our Fleet Maintenance team at the City of Windsor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair complex problems with vehicles, including electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Conduct safety inspections on vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs, including documentation of work performed and parts used.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques in the field of automotive repair.
Requirements
  • Must have a Certificate of Qualification in Automotive Service Technician and/or Truck and Coach Technician from the Ministry of Education.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of automotive repair.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a valid Class 'D' Driver's Licence with a 'Z' endorsement.
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer agility test.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of aerial equipment with electric over hydraulic operation.
  • Knowledge of advanced automotive electronics and computer control systems.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of complex industrial and mobile hydraulic equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge of automatic transmissions and diesel engines.
