We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ward Clerk to join our Pediatric Perioperative Services team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our Pre-Op Clinic Service, including data entry, supply management, and transportation functions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the Pre-Op Clinic Service, including data entry and supply management
- Perform transportation functions in accordance with unit and Health Centre policies
- Work collaboratively with the Clinical Leaders in the Perioperative Services team to ensure the efficient operation of the Pre-Op Clinic Service
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare staff
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Graduate from a recognized Office Administration Program preferred
- Minimum of six (6) months related administrative experience preferred
- Previous experience in a similar role an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs/technology required
- Keyboarding skills minimum of 40 wpm required, 60 wpm is preferred
- Knowledge of SAP an asset
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology an asset
- Knowledge of Meditech preferred
- Working knowledge of MSM system an asset
- Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Demonstrated ability to respectfully work with a variety of inter-professional team members required
- High degree of initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline/focus
- Commitment to continual learning and willing to share knowledge and support the development of co-workers
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills required
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
