The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ward Clerk to join our Pediatric Perioperative Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of reception and clerical duties to ensure the efficient operation of the unit.

Responsibilities
  • Data entry, including database entry
  • Ordering and maintaining supplies
  • Required transport functions in accordance with unit and Health Centre policies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate from a recognized Office Administration Program (preferred)
  • Minimum of six (6) months related administrative experience (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a similar role (an asset)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs/technology
  • Keyboarding skills minimum of 40 wpm (required), 60 wpm (preferred)
  • Knowledge of SAP (an asset)
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology (an asset)
  • Knowledge of Meditech (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of MSM system (an asset)
  • Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to respectfully work with a variety of inter-professional team members
  • High degree of initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline/focus
  • Commitment to continual learning and willing to share knowledge and support the development of co-workers
  • Demonstrated commitment to Family Centred Care
  • Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Competencies in other languages (an asset)
