Culinary Operations Director

As a key member of our culinary team, the Culinary Operations Director will play a critical role in shaping the culinary experience at Disability Solutions. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced leader who can oversee menu development, supervise culinary staff, and ensure compliance with established standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive menu plans for multiple operations, including retail, residential dining, commissary service, and catering
  • Establish and maintain budgets, ensuring cost-effective food purchasing and preparation
  • Evaluate and enhance food preparation techniques, presentation styles, and quality standards to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Source and procure high-quality food products, prioritizing freshness, sustainability, and seasonality
  • Lead training initiatives for culinary staff, focusing on best practices related to Fair Trade compliance, customer satisfaction, and food safety
  • Liaise with head office support teams to facilitate effective communication and cooperation
  • Collaborate with chefs to design and implement innovative food sampling menus that showcase our commitment to culinary excellence
  • Develop and manage production schedules, maintaining equipment and optimizing workflow to ensure efficient operations
  • Ensure adherence to Dana Hospitality's Seasonal Inspirations program and track the use of seasonal ingredients for submission to head office
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant government legislation and company policies related to food safety, sanitation, and labor regulations

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years' experience in a senior culinary leadership role, along with a Bachelor's degree or related culinary diploma. They should demonstrate expertise in high-end catering, Food and Beverage Management systems, and financial management. Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and the ability to lead in a dynamic environment are essential.
