**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Manager to join our team at the University of Waterloo. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing key energy reduction and water conservation initiatives.

The successful candidate will provide technical guidance on all University Building Automation Systems, balancing end-user requirements with system functionality, environmental sustainability, and financial impact. You will also work closely with the UW Energy Manager to maximize efforts in reducing energy consumption and deferred maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and management of key energy reduction and water conservation initiatives
  • Technical guidance on all University Building Automation Systems
  • Working closely with the UW Energy Manager to reduce energy consumption and deferred maintenance
  • Providing technical advice on various UW Sustainability and Energy Management initiatives
  • Ensuring building re-commissioning is done when required to ensure energy efficient and reliable operation of various HVAC and electrical systems
  • Representing Plant Operations in responding to complaints, concerns, and questions from UW campus community regarding air quality, temperature, and comfort

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Current Professional Engineering license (P.Eng)
  • Certified Energy Manager and/or Certified Commissioning Building Professional is an asset
  • A minimum of four years of progressive experience as a licensed professional designing, planning and construction of building mechanical systems within a major institutional sector such as education, post-secondary education, hospital or consulting service industry in Canada

Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
