About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team as an Industrial Ecology Researcher. The successful candidate will have a background in Engineering (Chemical, Mining, Metallurgical, Environmental, Industrial), Industrial Ecology, or Environmental Science with demonstrated research experience in sustainability science, metallurgical process modeling, and data-intensive analysis.

Job Responsibilities

The researcher will contribute to two NSERC funded projects: Lumet and Beyond Lithium. The Lumet project aims to illuminate the sustainability of metals and minerals value chains by developing data-intensive sustainability science and metallurgical process modeling. The Beyond Lithium project seeks to establish and optimize various resource-efficient circularity pathways for critical minerals found in electric vehicles' batteries in Canada.

Key Requirements

  • PhD in Engineering (Chemical, Mining, Metallurgical, Environmental, Industrial), Industrial Ecology, or Environmental Science
  • Demonstrated research experience in sustainability science, metallurgical process modeling, and data-intensive analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
