Strategic HR Business Partner

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). This is a temporary full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will provide HR advisory, coaching, and consultation services to support effective people management practices across the organization. You will build strategic partnerships with business leaders, engage in employee program development and delivery, and provide expertise in recruitment processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Manager, Human Resources to develop and implement effective people management strategies, practices, standards, and initiatives.
- Work with other members of the HR advisory team to deliver integrated programs and services.
- Provide strategic HR advisory, coaching, and consultation services to support all aspects of effective people management practices.
- Counsel and coach selection committees on staffing options, recruitment practices, and innovative attraction techniques.
- Develop reports and presentations to inform the Manager, Human Resources of employee program and advisory service achievements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an HR generalist with emphasis on delivery of programs and advisory services in unionized environments.
- Solid knowledge of workforce planning, succession planning, talent acquisition/recruitment, retention, diversity, career management, performance management, labour relations, and recognition.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and exercise discretion.
- Advanced analytical skills and ability to apply sound judgment in problem-solving and decision-making.
