Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Registered Nurse to join our IV Therapy team at Richmond Hospital. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Vascular Access and Infusion, you will provide expert care to patients requiring intravenous therapy, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including establishing peripheral IV access, administering medications, and monitoring patient responses.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and promote seamless transitions between departments.
  • Conduct educational sessions for patients, families, and staff on vascular access devices, infusion therapy, and related topics.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices in IV therapy.
  • Maintain accurate records, adhering to regulatory requirements and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Minimum one year of experience in venous access devices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of BCCNM standards for nursing practice, as well as principles of asepsis and infection control.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is CAD $41.42 - $55.91 per hour, based on a 0.79 FTE schedule.
