Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Vancouver Coastal Health, you will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill clients with unpredictable outcomes. You will be responsible for enhancing the quality of life from the client's perspective, consulting with other healthcare professionals, and maintaining and advancing your own clinical competence.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-acuity nursing care to critically ill clients
  • Enhance the quality of life for clients and their families
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Maintain and advance your clinical competence
  • Participate in hospital committees and research projects as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Completion of a critical care nursing program or two years of recent critical care experience
  • Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client-centered model of care
  • Knowledge of BCCNM standards for nursing practice
  • Thorough knowledge of drugs used in critical care environments
  • Ability to assess and manage critical situations
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and healthcare professionals
