We are seeking a highly skilled Business Process Advisor to join our team at FortisAlberta Inc.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work within the Operations Project Management Office, collaborating with various stakeholders to identify areas of improvement in our Capital Delivery processes and Construction Management Tools.

This includes building, investigating, and reporting on inquiries and requests from the Operations Project Management Office (OPMO), as well as providing guidance and advice on overall system and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Root Cause Analysis: Identify root causes of business problems and requests by conducting trend analysis to support strong and rational business cases for process improvements.
  • Process Improvement: Research and understand business processes, methodologies, and strategies to create metric and analytical reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Elicit feedback from key stakeholders by conducting project workshops, interviews, and reviews of data from existing documentation to understand and determine business solutions and opportunities.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Create workshop materials and facilitate sessions with stakeholders to identify process improvements, including final validation and peer sign off with stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Advanced Data Analysis: Enhance the application of analytics and business intelligence in business decisions by analyzing reports to identify trends and making recommendations based on findings to reduce costs and improve project delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Apply quality assurance best practices for work management, reporting, and analytics services.
  • Document Control: Develop and validate documentation of Capital Delivery business processes and procedural documentation to align with compliance for both legislative and internal performance requirements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Support leaders with the re-design of business processes including clarifying, identifying issues, and facilitating changes to attain the highest levels of control, compliance, customer service, and efficiency.
  • Leadership and Training: Provide informal leadership and training to work teams and individuals.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business, Commerce, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience in a role whose primary duties include either business process improvement or business analysis or process/business analysis.
