As a Pharmacist with Calgary Co-op, you will be responsible for filling prescriptions, maintaining records, consulting with Physicians or other Practitioners, and practicing high-level pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Filling prescriptions, including evaluating appropriateness and maintaining records as per guidelines
  • Maintaining confidentiality and providing information to customers while maintaining confidentiality
  • Supervising pharmacy technicians according to applicable rules and regulations
  • Being aware of government and professional regulations, as well as Pharmacy policies regarding control, safekeeping, and sale of pharmaceuticals

You will also be expected to:

  • Be familiar with all merchandise carried in the department and new products and trends in the pharmaceutical and retail pharmacy industry
  • Supervise and assist in perpetual inventory processes, ordering, and maintaining prescription product inventories
  • Assist in department operating objectives, preparing reports, compiling statistics, processing invoices, and preparing business plans and budgets

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSc)
  • Licensed and registered with Alberta College of Pharmacists
  • Previous retail pharmacy experience is desirable
  • Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) designation within one year of effective start date
