About the Role
  • The Learning Support Associate will assist students individually or in small groups with assignments and reinforce learning and retention concepts under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
  • Maintaining a safe and supportive environment during recess and lunch hour is also an essential aspect of this position.
  • The successful candidate will assist students with integration into the classroom and school setting, ensuring a smooth transition for all.
Responsibilities
  • Classroom assistance: Providing support to students with special needs using techniques such as sign language, braille, and remedial programs.
  • Assisting the teacher in the operation of projectors, tape recorders, and other audio-visual or electronic equipment.
  • Monitoring and reporting student progress to the classroom teacher, enabling them to make informed decisions about student development.
Requirements
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
