Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Centre Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Wellspring Westerkirk House location in Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing local volunteer resources, providing front-line support to people with cancer and their loved ones, and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals and community groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Delivery: On-site management of programming operating at Wellspring Westerkirk House, including coordination of services, customer service, and program referrals.
- Volunteer Management: Recruitment, training, scheduling, mentoring, succession planning, leadership, support, and recognition of local volunteers.
- Community Engagement: Building and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals, community groups, and stakeholders to promote Wellspring's mission and services.
- Support Services: Providing front-line support to people with cancer and their loved ones, including emotional, practical, and informational support.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field, including motivating and supervising volunteers, and providing support to individuals living with health concerns.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational capability, with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- An understanding of the impact of cancer on individuals and families.
- The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English.
- Adaptability based on varying demands within the role.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, and a good comfort level with tasks associated with program and volunteer administration.
