Varsity Assistant Coordinator

Established in 1789, the University of King's College is a renowned institution in Canada, associated with Dalhousie University. Our small and vibrant academic community in Halifax (Kjipuktuk), Nova Scotia, is known for its highly acclaimed interdisciplinary programs in the humanities, including the Foundation Year Program, professional programs in journalism, and fine arts programs in creative writing.
The Athletics Department is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to assist with varsity programming and facility management. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for athletics and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will report to the Athletics Administrator.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as the primary point of contact for the Athletics Department.
- Manage email inquiries and answer calls sent to the main athletics email account.
- Monitor facility use and ensure equipment is in good working order.
- Administer financial paperwork for the department.
- Submit maintenance requests for the facility.
- Act as liaison between student intramural coordinators and other groups with athletic programs.
- Update and maintain the Athletics portion of the University of King's College website.
- Minimum of two years of administrative experience in higher education and/or Athletics and Facility Management.
- Business or Office Administration diploma is required; Undergraduate degree is considered an asset.
- Understanding of Athletics and varsity sports is a requirement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word and Excel) is required.
- Proficiency in WordPress is an asset.
- Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment, both independently and within a group.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification is required or willingness to obtain upon hire.
