About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Framer-Carpenter to join our team at Take Flight Contracting Ltd. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Prepare layouts and use measuring tools to ensure accurate measurements and cuts.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a high-quality finish.
  • Conduct site surveys to ensure accurate building locations and levels.
  • Estimate costs and materials to ensure efficient project management.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
Work Environment

This role requires working at heights, in noisy environments, and outdoors, with a focus on construction and building projects.

Requirements
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in various environments.
