Carpenter - Construction Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Take Flight Contracting Ltd. as a Construction Specialist. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction of buildings, from foundations to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
• Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Work Site Environment

As a Carpenter with Take Flight Contracting Ltd., you will be working in a variety of environments, including:

• At heights
• Noisy
• Outdoors

Work Setting

You will be working in a fast-paced construction environment, with a focus on building high-quality buildings that meet the needs of our clients.

Tasks

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches: To determine work requirements and ensure that all construction work is carried out in accordance with the plans and specifications.
• Prepare layouts: Using measuring tools to ensure that all construction work is carried out in accordance with the plans and specifications.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials: Made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials, to ensure that all construction work is carried out in accordance with the plans and specifications.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems: To ensure that all construction work is carried out in accordance with the plans and specifications.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware: To ensure that all construction work is carried out in accordance with the plans and specifications.
• Survey building locations and levels: To ensure that all construction work is carried out in accordance with the plans and specifications.
• Estimate costs and materials: To ensure that all construction work is carried out in accordance with the plans and specifications.
