Framer Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Framer Carpenter to join our team at Take Flight Contracting Ltd. as a Construction Specialist. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of various construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Execution
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Survey building locations and levels
- Estimate costs and materials
- Maintenance and Repair
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
- Accessibility and Inclusion
- Provide physical accessibility accommodations (e.g., ramps, elevators)
- Provide visual accessibility accommodations (e.g., braille, screen readers)
- Provide auditory accessibility accommodations (e.g., transcription software, teletypewriters)
- Participate in government or community programs that support persons with disabilities
- Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for persons with disabilities
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees
- Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and/or refugees
- Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (e.g., housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing)
