Job Summary:

The Governance Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Board of Directors and senior leadership team at Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated. This position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the work of the Board, its committees, and affiliate organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support the work of the Board of Directors, including preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, and ensuring timely and effective decision-making.
  • Provide administrative support to the Board and its committees, including managing correspondence, preparing reports, and maintaining records.
  • Develop and implement governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives that align with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Board and its committees on governance matters, including advising on best practices and providing training and development opportunities.
  • Travel extensively within Nunavut to attend meetings and provide support to the Board and its committees.

Requirements:

  • A college diploma in office administration or a related field.
  • Experience in working with political boards and governance structures.
  • Experience in recording minutes and preparing meeting materials.
  • Experience in managing financial resources and developing budgets.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including SharePoint and Adobe software.
  • Proven ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills in Inuktut and English.

Benefits:

  • Starting salary is $120,702.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) with a comprehensive benefit package.
  • Housing allowance of $35,232.

Preference: Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
