Job Summary:

The Government of Nunavut seeks a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Communications Manager to lead the development, implementation, and management of internal and external communications strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Communications Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive communications plans to promote the Government of Nunavut's brand and reputation.
  • Manage Public Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, stakeholders, and the public to ensure positive coverage and engagement.
  • Write and Edit Content: Produce high-quality written materials, including press releases, public service announcements, and other related content.
  • Develop Communications Procedures: Establish and maintain departmental communications protocols and procedures.
  • Provide Strategic Advice: Offer expert guidance to senior management on communications-related matters.
  • Plan and Coordinate Events: Organize special events and projects to promote the Government of Nunavut's initiatives and milestones.

Requirements:

  • Education: A university degree in public relations, communications, public/business administration, political science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of direct progressive experience in public relations, and/or 3 years of Supervisory/Management experience.

Assets:

  • Public Sector Experience: Previous experience working in the public sector is an asset.
