Sustainable Communities Project Leader

As PECT's Energy and Communities Project Manager, you will be instrumental in facilitating transformative sustainability efforts within our communities. Your responsibilities will encompass informing residents about the advantages of energy efficiency, launching behavior modification initiatives, and actively involving the community in eco-friendly practices.
By managing the home energy team, you will direct projects that significantly contribute to the development of greener, more sustainable neighborhoods. This position is about being a catalyst for change; an advocate in the community who motivates others to participate in creating a sustainable future.

Role Objectives:The Energy and Communities Project Manager will be vital in promoting sustainable practices within local neighborhoods. This role emphasizes educating residents on energy efficiency, supporting health and wellness initiatives, and spearheading behavior change programs.
Your engagement with the community will be essential in advancing sustainability efforts, alongside managing the home energy team to oversee projects that foster sustainable environments.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of domestic energy conservation and the advantages of sustainable practices for individuals and communities. They will serve as a change agent and an influencer, encouraging others to contribute to building a sustainable future and achieving environmental objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage PECT's domestic energy and fuel poverty projects to assist residents in lowering their energy usage.
- Empower communities and individuals through the creation and management of sustainability initiatives that promote healthy living.
- Inspire, motivate, and develop the domestic energy team in alignment with PECT's values and policies.
- Facilitate the transition to cleaner and renewable energy sources by engaging with the community, providing training, and offering support.
- Deliver extensive training and support to stakeholders on topics related to fuel poverty, energy efficiency, climate change, and sustainability.
- Design and implement behavior change programs aimed at encouraging eco-friendly practices within the community.
- Collaborate with a diverse array of stakeholders to foster a cooperative approach to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
- Work towards significant reductions in community carbon emissions, contributing to the achievement of net zero targets.
- Collaborate with the broader PECT team to enhance public involvement in environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure an equitable and inclusive transition for all citizens, emphasizing fair access to sustainable practices and resources.
- Implement, deliver, and assess programs to ensure they meet their intended objectives, within budget and on schedule, while positively impacting the community.

Essential Qualifications:- Proven experience in managing community-oriented projects aimed at reducing environmental impact and achieving net zero emissions.
- Proficient in project management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership.
- Effective communicator capable of articulating the significance of sustainability to diverse audiences.
- Strong communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to work effectively under pressure to meet targets and resolve issues.
- Ability to make decisions and act independently; self-motivated to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Proficient in IT, particularly with Microsoft Office Software.
- Willingness to learn and engage in training as needed.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in an environmental, business, or science-related field, or relevant experience.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Passion for and understanding of environmental and sustainability issues.
