Position Overview:
The Senior Project Manager role is pivotal in overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of various projects within the Westinghouse Parts Business. This includes managing mechanical initiatives within the Candu Nuclear Market, with project budgets ranging from $50,000 to $15 million. The ideal candidate will adeptly handle multiple complex projects, lead diverse teams, and maintain progress towards established milestones with a high degree of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure, ensuring successful execution through effective planning, monitoring, and controlling.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that define scope, allocate resources, and establish timelines, while ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Balance competing project demands, including scope, quality, schedule, and risk management, while continuously improving project management practices.
- Align stakeholder expectations and foster collaboration among team members, customers, and suppliers to achieve project objectives.
- Act as the primary liaison for all project-related communications, ensuring clarity and understanding of contract requirements and changes.
- Conduct thorough project closure activities, including final assessments and documentation, while identifying opportunities for future improvements.
- Continuously seek and implement enhancements to project performance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a relevant field such as Project Management, Engineering, or Business.
- A minimum of 3 to 6 years of project management experience, with a preference for candidates with a technical background.
- Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation and control components in nuclear power settings is advantageous.
- PMP certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (PMBOK) and tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
