Sustainable Energy Community Manager

As PECT's Energy and Communities Project Manager, you will be instrumental in facilitating transformative environmental practices within our local neighborhoods. Your primary responsibilities will encompass informing residents about the advantages of energy efficiency, launching programs to encourage behavioral changes, and actively involving the community in sustainability initiatives.
By leading the home energy team, you will manage projects that significantly contribute to the development of greener, more sustainable communities. This position is about being a catalyst for change; an influential figure in the community who motivates others to participate in creating a sustainable future.

Role Overview:The Energy and Communities Project Manager will be vital in promoting sustainable practices within local communities. This role emphasizes educating residents on energy efficiency, supporting health and wellness initiatives, and spearheading behavioral change programs.
Your responsibilities will include actively engaging with the community to advance sustainability efforts and managing the home energy team to oversee projects that foster sustainable environments.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of domestic energy conservation and the advantages of sustainable practices for individuals and communities. They will act as a change agent and an influencer, encouraging others to engage in building a sustainable future and achieving environmental objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage PECT's domestic energy and fuel poverty projects to assist residents in lowering their energy consumption.
- Empower communities and individuals through the creation and management of sustainability initiatives that promote healthy living.
- Inspire, motivate, and develop the domestic energy team in alignment with PECT's values and policies.
- Facilitate the transition to cleaner and renewable energy sources by engaging with the community, providing training, and offering support.
- Deliver comprehensive training and assistance to stakeholders on topics related to fuel poverty, energy efficiency, climate change, and sustainability.
- Develop and implement behavior change initiatives aimed at encouraging eco-friendly practices within the community.
- Engage with a diverse array of stakeholders to foster a collaborative approach to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
- Work towards significant reductions in community carbon emissions, contributing to the attainment of net zero targets.
- Collaborate with the broader PECT team to enhance public involvement in environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure an equitable and inclusive transition for all citizens, emphasizing fair access to sustainable practices and resources.
- Implement, deliver, and assess programs to ensure they meet their intended objectives, within budget and on schedule, while positively impacting the community.

Essential Qualifications:- Experience in managing community-oriented projects aimed at reducing environmental impact and achieving net zero emissions.
- Proficient in project management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership.
- Effective communicator capable of articulating the significance of sustainability to varied audiences.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet targets and resolve issues.
- Ability to make decisions and act independently; self-motivated to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Proficient in IT, particularly with Microsoft Office Software.
- Willingness to learn and participate in training as necessary.
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an environmental, business, or science-related field, or possess relevant experience.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
