Position Overview:
The Senior Project Manager role is essential in overseeing the design, development, and execution of projects within the Westinghouse Parts Business. This position will focus on mechanical projects in the Candu Nuclear Market, with project budgets ranging from $50,000 to $15 million. The ideal candidate will adeptly manage complex projects, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure consistent progress tracking against established milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This includes defining project scope, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, staffing, and financial allocations, while monitoring progress to meet critical deadlines.
- Balance project constraints such as scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risks, continuously improving project management practices.
- Align expectations among stakeholders, including teams, customers, and suppliers, to achieve project objectives and manage stakeholder dynamics effectively.
- Act as the primary liaison for customers and internal teams, ensuring clear communication of project requirements and changes.
- Conclude projects by archiving all relevant documentation and conducting final quality assessments, while identifying opportunities for future improvements.
- Continuously seek and implement enhancements to project performance.
Qualifications:
- A College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Project Management, Engineering, Business, or Construction Management.
- 3 to 6 years of project management experience, with a preference for candidates with technical or engineering backgrounds.
- Experience with nuclear power plant components, particularly electrical, mechanical, or I&C systems.
- PMP certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (PMBOK) and tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal; additional languages are a plus.
