Director of Business Strategy

Norfolk Housing Association (NHA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable, safe, and inclusive housing to diverse populations. We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Business Strategy to lead our strategic growth and engagement initiatives.

About the Role

The Director of Business Strategy will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and be responsible for developing and executing NHA's growth strategy, including fund development, stakeholder relationship management, and internal and external communications. This role will work closely with the CEO and board to advocate for Norfolk and promote its unique housing model in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement NHA's growth strategy, including fund development and stakeholder relationship management
  • Lead in the implementation of the desired culture within the workforce to create a culture of safety, respect, and high degree of engagement amongst staff
  • Establish and maintain relationships within the sector and the community and act as an advocate for the organization, its programs and strategic objectives
  • Promote Norfolk and its services, including attendance at community meetings and presentations at conferences
  • Work with the CEO, board committees, and operations team as needed to develop annual budgets and manage financial performance
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess educational training in commerce, administration, communications, urban planning, or social work, and have a broad skill set and 10+ years' experience in a related field and/or management level position. They will have a passion for leading and developing teams, building and maintaining relationships, and executing organization-wide strategic initiatives.

The Director of Business Strategy will work in an office environment and on occasion be required to travel to association-owned properties, conferences, and meetings/events in non-standard workplaces. A 5 to 40 hour work week is expected, with additional hours as needed to accommodate organizational events and representing the organization at public events.
