Payroll Associate Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Associate to join our team at RailWorks Corporation.

Job DescriptionThis role involves collecting employee timekeeping information, processing payroll, and maintaining accurate records. You will also be responsible for providing support to the HRIS team and other operational departments as needed.
- Primary Responsibilities:
- Enter payroll and employment information accurately and on time
- Maintain job cost database for time entry accuracy
- Balance and reconcile payroll records; analyze reports to identify errors
- Research and resolve routine payroll questions and issues from managers and staff
- Ensure compliance with payroll standards and practices
- Maintain consistent information flow between payroll, HR, and other departments
- Administer the Austin Lane system
- Involved in new hire/rehire documentation process
- Maintain employee records and assist with HR programs
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A post-secondary program in a related field
- At least 1-3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a unionized environment
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
- Strong understanding of payroll principles and standards
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with payroll systems/software such as JD Edwards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
