Job Description

The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for providing end-to-end payroll cycle processing for salaried, hourly union, and non-union employees across all locations in Canada. This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office and 2 days from home).

You will provide high-level quality service to stakeholders, ensure compliance with applicable federal/provincial regulations, company policies, and union agreements. You will support the completion of year-end tax slip production and filings, including WCB and EHT annual returns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a subject matter expert and/or resource to others in payroll processing, integration data management (Workday and ADP GlobalView)
  • Conduct basic testing/QA for change requests
  • Review, analyze, and verify payroll reports and documents for accuracy, and make necessary adjustments or corrections through established procedures
  • Resolve and validate payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Create financial reports for accounting teams and answer inquiries regarding payroll data
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of payroll experience within a national organization
  • National Payroll Institute PCP designation
  • ADP GlobalView/SAP experience with knowledge of Workday and associated integrations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial payroll legislation
  • Working knowledge of Canadian payroll tax and Canadian pension & retirement programs
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential data
  • English and/or French verbal and written communication skills
