Job Title: Switchboard Operator/Health Records Clerk

We are seeking a skilled and organized individual to join our team as a Switchboard Operator/Health Records Clerk. This is a casual opportunity with rotating days and varied hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the switchboard and public address system, receiving and directing patients and visitors.
  • Perform various clerical duties, including maintaining health records, processing requests for release of information, and reviewing charts for accuracy.
  • Respond to and monitor hospital alarms and emergency codes.
  • Provide cashier services, receiving payments, recording transactions, and issuing change and receipts.
  • Maintain supply inventory, ordering stock and non-stock items, and receiving, checking, and depositing patient valuables.
  • Perform data entry, typing, and compiling documents, as well as maintaining filing systems.
Requirements:
  • Completion of Grade 12.
  • A current Typing Test of 45 wpm or greater completed within the past 48 months from a recognized institution.
  • One year's recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A Cover Letter stating your availability.

Casual employment includes short-notice, on-call availability, workload coverage during a temporary absence, and providing relief coverage in a specific position. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent part-time or full-time positions.
