About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Care to lead our nursing team at Southbridge Care Homes. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement nursing department initiatives and functions to enhance resident care and safety.
- Coordinate and implement best practice and risk management initiatives related to resident care, including falls and harm reduction strategies.
- Effectively manage the utilization of nursing supplies and resources.
- Maintain a system of care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation at the resident and unit program level.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to nursing staff while overseeing the provision of quality resident care.
- Investigate and address occupational health and safety concerns, including WSIB claims and return-to-work plans.
- Participate in special projects, reviews, and other initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
- Assume responsibility for the nursing department and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
- Proven experience in long-term care, with a focus on resident-centered care and safety.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, residents, and families.
- Experience with WSIB management and occupational health and safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and comprehension skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
