We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Environmental Services Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. This is a casual relief position, with a salary range of $19.26 - $20.02 per hour.

About the Role

The Environmental Services Worker plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors across our healthcare facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for cleaning all units as assigned, including patient rooms and public areas. Your duties may include mopping, dusting, vacuuming furniture, floors, and stairways, buffing, scrubbing, and refinishing floors, moving and arranging furniture, and changing curtains and drapes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean all units as assigned, including patient rooms and public areas
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas
  • Operate specialized equipment such as Taski spray buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, and shampooers
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless operations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Grade 12 or equivalent work experience
  • Reliable transportation and access to a vehicle (may be required to travel to other sites)
